Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum The Decanter Centrifuge, often referred to simply as the "decanter," is ingeniously designed, comprising a drum, screw, differential, frame, cover, and more. Within this system, the drum and screw rotate in unison but at differing speeds, orchestrating a harmonious separation process. Materials are continuously directed into the spiral inner cylinder via the feed pipe, gaining momentum before entering the spinning drum. Here, centrifugal force acts to deposit the heavier solid particles onto the drum wall, forming a sediment layer. The screw perpetually advances the sludge toward the drum cone's end, swiftly discharging it through the designated outlet. Meanwhile, the lighter liquid phase forms an inner liquid ring, easily spilling out through the overflow port at the drum's wider end and smoothly draining from the machine via the drain port. This facilitates efficient liquid-solid two-phase separation or liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
